Yeshiva University Museum is a teaching museum in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan that serves as the cultural arm of Yeshiva University and is a Smithsonian Institution affiliate. Founded in 1973 and originally housed on the university's Washington Heights campus, it became a partner institution of the Center for Jewish History in 2000, sharing the center with the American Jewish Historical Society, American Sephardi Federation, Leo Baeck Institute New York, and YIVO Institute for Jewish Research. Its collection of more than 8,000 artifacts spans fine and folk art, ceremonial objects, textiles, archaeological pieces, and manuscripts, including Bronze Age artifacts and an illuminated manuscript from 1478. The museum presents exhibitions alongside family workshops, lectures, films, concerts, and multilingual tours.
