SENTIENT Artspace (“the Platform”) is presented by SENTIENT Furniture Inc. (“SENTIENT,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a Brooklyn-based gallery and design studio. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit or interact with the SENTIENT Artspace platform at community.sentientgallery.com and its related services.

By using the Platform, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

• Profile information — name, biography, discipline, studio location, website, social media links, and exhibition history provided when you apply for or manage a profile.
• Email address — collected when you apply, sign in, or request a claim link. We use passwordless authentication; your email is the only credential we store.
• Images and media — work images, portrait photographs, and video links you upload or provide through the Platform.
• Application details — information submitted when applying for a profile, including descriptions of your practice.

Information collected automatically:

• Usage data — pages visited, time spent, referring URLs, and browser or device information.
• Cookies and similar technologies — session cookies necessary for authentication and platform functionality. See Section 8 for details.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create, publish, and maintain your public profile on the Platform.
• Send authentication links, approval notifications, and platform communications.
• Review applications and administer the Platform.
• Improve the Platform's functionality and user experience.
• Promote the SENTIENT Artspace community and the work of listed practitioners — including through SENTIENT's marketing, social media channels, publications, and advertising (see Section 4).
• Comply with legal obligations.

4. Media, Images, and Promotional Use

By uploading images, photographs, videos, or other media to the Platform, you grant SENTIENT Furniture Inc. a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, display, distribute, and adapt such media for the purposes of:

• Displaying your work on the SENTIENT Artspace platform and any associated SENTIENT digital properties.
• Promoting SENTIENT Artspace and the creative community it represents through SENTIENT's social media accounts, newsletters, editorial publications, print materials, and paid advertising campaigns.
• Featuring your work in SENTIENT Gallery exhibitions, event materials, press releases, and other promotional contexts.

Where practicable, SENTIENT will credit the artist or gallery when using uploaded media in a promotional context. This licence does not transfer ownership of your work. You retain full copyright over all images and media you upload.

You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to any media you upload, and that its use by SENTIENT as described above does not infringe the rights of any third party.

5. Public Profile Information

Profile information you submit — including your name, biography, discipline, studio neighbourhood, work images, and exhibition history — is published publicly on the Platform and may be indexed by search engines. Please submit only information you are comfortable making publicly available. Studio address and direct contact details are displayed at your discretion; you may omit or remove them at any time through your dashboard.

6. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it:

• With service providers — hosting, email delivery, analytics, and other vendors who process data on our behalf and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
• For legal compliance — when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of SENTIENT or others.
• In a business transfer — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with appropriate notice.

7. Data Retention

We retain your profile information for as long as your profile remains active on the Platform. If you request removal of your profile, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or legitimate business interests.

8. Cookies

The Platform uses session cookies strictly necessary for authentication — to keep you signed in during an active session. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes. You may disable cookies in your browser settings; doing so will prevent you from signing in to the Platform.

9. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. Passwordless authentication reduces the risk associated with compromised credentials. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information; to restrict or object to certain processing; and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.

11. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
