The platform welcomes artists, galleries, designers, makers, and other creative practitioners based in New York. Whether you work in painting, sculpture, photography, textile, furniture design, ceramics, or any other discipline — if New York is where you make your work, this is your platform.

Each application is reviewed by the SENTIENT team before a profile goes live. We look for active practitioners with a genuine connection to New York. Most applications receive a decision within 48 hours.

There is no charge to apply or maintain a profile. SENTIENT bears the cost of this platform as part of its commitment to New York's creative community.

Yes. Once your profile is approved, you can sign in at any time to update your bio, upload new work images, add exhibition history, embed a video, and manage your studio location and contact details.

SENTIENT organises a range of programs to support the creative community represented here — including exhibitions, open studio events, artist residencies, collaborative projects, publications, and competitions. Upcoming events are posted through the platform and announced to listed practitioners.

Active profiles receive invitations they can extend to fellow artists and galleries they believe belong in this community. Invited practitioners apply through the standard process and are reviewed by the SENTIENT team. You can also share a personal referral link — successful referrals strengthen your presence in the platform's featured rotation.

Collectors, curators, and collaborators can browse by discipline, medium, and neighbourhood; explore interactive maps of studios and gallery spaces; and connect directly with practitioners through their profiles. The platform is designed to make the work of discovering and engaging New York's creative community as direct as possible.
