Mount Vernon Hotel Museum & Garden is a historic house museum on Manhattan's Upper East Side, owned and operated by the Colonial Dames of America. Built in 1799 as a carriage house and converted in 1826 into a day resort — the city's last surviving example of such a hotel — the landmarked building is one of the few remaining eighteenth-century structures in New York City. Its programming centers on the 1820s and 1830s, with guided tours through period rooms, an on-site garden, rotating exhibitions, and educational offerings including school tours and fellowships.
