Monya Rowe Gallery

Monya Rowe Gallery is a contemporary art gallery founded by dealer Monya Rowe in 2003, when she opened a 200-square-foot storefront space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, that New York Times critic Roberta Smith called possibly the smallest white cube in the New York art world. The gallery later moved to Chelsea, then to the Lower East Side, closed when Rowe relocated to St. Augustine, Florida, in 2015, and returned to New York in 2018, now operating from Manhattan's Flower District. Known for giving emerging artists their first New York solo exhibitions, the gallery has shown Larissa Bates, Angela Dufresne, Josephine Halvorson, Vera Iliatova, Jacolby Satterwhite, Devin Troy Strother, and Ann Toebbe, with a program that has long emphasized women artists.
