Voices in Contemporary Art (VoCA) is a New York City nonprofit dedicated to the stewardship of contemporary art, working to ensure that artworks and the knowledge behind them endure. The organization trains arts professionals through workshops on artist-interview methodology, offered in English and Spanish, and on time-based media conservation, while pairing graduate students with colleagues from artist-endowed foundations for hands-on preservation research. VoCA also publishes a digital journal of artist-centered, cross-disciplinary conversations about art stewardship and runs a public talks series featuring artists and their collaborators discussing the challenges of creating, exhibiting, and preserving contemporary work.
