Rosenberg & Co. is a Modern and contemporary art gallery on Manhattan's Upper East Side, founded in 2015 by Marianne Rosenberg, a former international finance lawyer who opened the gallery to honor her family's history in art dealing. Her grandfather Paul Rosenberg represented Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, and Henri Matisse from Paris before fleeing to the United States in 1940 as France fell to Nazi occupation, during which roughly 400 works from his collection were looted; her great-uncle Léonce Rosenberg ran the Galerie de l'Effort Moderne and held Picasso's first signed dealer contract. Rosenberg & Co. presents an international program of Impressionist, Modern, and contemporary art, with gallery leadership maintaining ties to European institutions including the Fondazione Giacomo Manzù and the Comité Léger; recent exhibitions have included 'Giacomo Manzù: The Artist and his Dealer,' drawn from the family's decades-long relationship with the Italian sculptor.
