International Center of Photography (ICP) is a museum founded in 1974 by Cornell Capa, a Magnum photographer and photo curator, to advance what he called 'concerned photography' -- socially and politically engaged documentary work -- following the deaths of his brother Robert Capa and fellow photographers Werner Bischof and David Seymour. Originally housed in the Willard Straight House on Fifth Avenue, ICP is now located on Manhattan's Lower East Side, with its collection of more than 200,000 photographs held at Mana Contemporary in New Jersey. The museum has presented more than 500 exhibitions of thousands of photographers' work and runs an extensive school serving thousands of students annually.
