EFA Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop is a cooperative print studio in Manhattan operating in the lineage of master printmaker Robert Blackburn, who opened his first workshop in his Chelsea loft in 1947 and incorporated it as the nonprofit Printmaking Workshop in 1971. After that organization closed in 2001, the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, at Blackburn's request before his 2003 death, opened the present-day EFA Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop in 2005 as its successor. The workshop provides artists of all skill levels with access to lithography, etching, and other printmaking facilities, along with classes, a fellowship program, a study center, and exhibitions, continuing Blackburn's mission of a racially, ethnically, and culturally diverse printmaking community.
