David Nolan Gallery
Art galleryDavid Nolan Gallery was founded in 1987 in SoHo, New York, with an early focus on contemporary works on paper alongside painting and sculpture by American and European artists, and on producing monographs and tightly curated historical exhibitions. Its inaugural solo show presented early drawings by Sigmar Polke, and the program went on to include Georg Baselitz, Martin Kippenberger, Gerhard Richter, and Richard Artschwager. The gallery relocated to Chelsea in 2008, in a space designed by Markus Dochantschi with a facade by Artschwager, then moved to a townhouse on the Upper East Side in 2020. Current artists include Mel Kendrick, Dorothea Rockburne, Chakaia Booker, and Alice Maher, and the gallery is a member of the Art Dealers Association of America.
