Culture Lab LIC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization founded in 2021 by Edjo Wheeler, who previously co-founded the Plaxall Gallery, in Long Island City, Queens. Operating from a 12,000-square-foot converted warehouse on the Anable Basin waterfront, the organization describes itself as the arts and culture umbrella for Western Queens. Its facilities include two fine-art galleries, an 80-seat theater, classroom space, and an 18,000-square-foot outdoor venue. Programming spans visual-art exhibitions, live music, theater, film screenings, and children's events, much of it free or low-cost, along with an artist-residency program. The organization draws over 50,000 visitors annually.
