Bortolami is a contemporary art gallery founded in 2005 by Stefania Bortolami, who previously worked for dealer Anthony d'Offay, together with Amalia Dayan, formerly a director at Gagosian Gallery. After operating from two successive Chelsea spaces, the gallery moved to a roughly 9,000-square-foot home in Tribeca, where it remains. Its roster spans generations, from Daniel Buren and Renée Green to Sable Elyse Smith, Caitlin Keogh, and Vian Sora, and the gallery manages artist estates including that of Mary Obering. Bortolami is known for its Artist/City initiative, which pairs an artist with an American city for a year-long exhibition in an unconventional venue, and it maintains an offsite program that has placed artists' work at institutions including Dia Beacon and the Rubell Museum.
