AIGA NY is the New York City chapter of AIGA, the national professional association for design that was founded in 1914 and began forming local chapters in the 1980s, including its New York chapter in 1982. An independent 501(c)3 nonprofit, AIGA NY supports the city's graphic and design community through public programming, events, mentorship, and career resources, including a Faculty Finder program connecting design professionals with teaching opportunities at New York-based schools and a Design Directory highlighting local studios and educational pathways. The chapter is donor-supported and organizes community gatherings such as design swap meets in partnership with local venues.
