56 Henry

56 Henry is a contemporary art gallery in the Two Bridges neighborhood of Lower Manhattan, owned by Eleanor "Ellie" Rines. Rines opened her first gallery, a single-work storefront in the Meatpacking District, in 2013 at age twenty-five; when that space was sold in 2015, she relocated and renamed the gallery for its new home on Henry Street, bordering Chinatown. The gallery represents a roster of emerging and mid-career artists, including LaKela Brown, Nikita Gale, Cynthia Talmadge, and Richard Tinkler, showing their work through installation-based exhibitions, special-edition print portfolios, and publications. Its street-level space keeps work visible to passersby around the clock, and a second location opened in 2022.
