440 Gallery
Art gallery440 Gallery is an artist-run cooperative gallery in Park Slope, Brooklyn, founded in 2005 by artists Nancy Lunsford and Shanee Epstein, who were looking for a place to show and sell their work. What began as an informally organized collective has grown over two decades into a more structured nonprofit with a part-time paid director, while member artists continue to share operating duties and each is guaranteed a solo show roughly every two years. The roster works across painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, assemblage, and installation, spanning emerging to mid-career practices, and the gallery regularly invites outside artists and curators to participate in seasonal group shows.
