Epic Uno, formerly known as Elastic, is a graffiti artist and graphic designer based in New York City who came from Puerto Rico around 1997 to attend Pratt Institute, where he trained formally in graphic design. Before turning to visual art he was part of Puerto Rico's hip-hop scene as a break dancer, emcee, and DJ; he began painting on and around the Pratt campus after being mentored by the writer Sen2. His work, described as meticulous and built from detailed sketches rather than improvisation, draws on 1920s aesthetics, art deco, and traditional typography. He has painted with crews including A Dying Breed and 4Burners, frequently collaborates with Sen2 and Logek, and has produced work for brands such as Coach and Nike, with pieces appearing across the Bronx, Long Island City, Welling Court, and East New York.
