Damian Gong is a Brooklyn-based artist, born in Hong Kong in 1986 and raised partly in San Francisco, who works across animation, video, film, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and installation. He earned a BFA in Film, Animation, and Video from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2023 and has been a fall artist-in-residence at Anderson Ranch. His stop-motion and mixed-media films, including HORSE, combine clay-on-glass animation, live action, photo transfer, and pixilation to explore inner conflict and cultural identity; his work has been selected for the Annecy International Animation Festival, Slamdance Film Festival, and the London International Animation Festival.
