Universal Limited Art Editions (ULAE) is a fine-art printmaking studio founded in 1957 by Tatyana Grosman at her home in West Islip, New York, where she pioneered the French livres d'artistes tradition in America. Its first project, 'Stones,' paired painter Larry Rivers with poet Frank O'Hara, and the studio went on to spark a mid-century revival of American printmaking, collaborating with artists including Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, Sam Francis, and Helen Frankenthaler. ULAE continues to produce original lithographs, etchings, woodcuts, and screenprints with contemporary artists such as Wyatt Kahn, Stanley Whitney, Salman Toor, Sam Moyer, and Sarah Crowner, and maintains a showroom in Manhattan where it exhibits editions, facsimiles, and artist books. The studio is a member of the Art Dealers Association of America.
