Transmitter is an artist-run gallery in Bushwick, Brooklyn, founded in May 2014 by Rob de Oude and Enrico Gomez as Parallel Art Space before being rebranded as Transmitter and partnering with fellow gallery Tiger Strikes Asteroid, with which it shares a second-floor space on Willoughby Avenue. Operated collectively by a rotating group of artist co-directors — including founding members Carl Gunhouse, Sara Jones, Rod Malin, Tom Marquet, and Mel Prest — the gallery mounts monthly exhibitions of emerging and underrepresented artists across painting, sculpture, and multimedia installation, often pairing artists with complementary sensibilities. Transmitter also co-manages a six-month artist residency program with Tiger Strikes Asteroid.
