Sugar Hill Children's Museum of Art & Storytelling is a nonprofit children's museum in the Sugar Hill section of Harlem, part of a mixed-use affordable-housing development created by Broadway Housing Communities under founder Ellen Baxter. Designed by architect David Adjaye, the museum opened in 2015 and focuses on reaching underserved children ages three to eight through art and storytelling programming. Its galleries have featured artists including Derek Fordjour, Romare Bearden, and Jacob Lawrence, alongside an artist-in-residence program and community events; a current exhibition offers a retrospective look at author and artist Faith Ringgold, who taught and kept her first studio in Harlem.
