Art gallerySHRINE is a gallery in Manhattan, founded by artist Scott Ogden, who opened the space somewhat by chance after finding an affordable storefront listing while searching for a new studio in the Two Bridges neighborhood near Chinatown. Ogden completed the space's build-out himself with a friend, and the gallery drew early attention through its participation in the 2016 Outsider Art Fair. Rather than separating contemporary and self-taught work into different categories, Ogden shows them together, describing his approach as looking for work that is "unique and heartfelt" regardless of formal training, and valuing self-taught art for what he calls its purity of intent. SHRINE's program includes group and solo exhibitions, one-night events, and performance art programming throughout the year.
