Art gallerySebastian Izzard LLC Asian Art is a New York gallery specializing in Japanese and Korean fine art, particularly ukiyo-e prints, founded by dealer Sebastian Izzard in 1998 after more than a decade as a senior specialist at Christie's. Izzard's interest in Japanese art began as a student in London; after graduating from Chelsea School of Art in 1973, he spent eighteen months studying in Japan before earning a doctorate from the School of Oriental and African Studies. A member gallery of the Art Dealers Association of America and a longtime participant in Asia Week New York, the gallery has curated scholarly exhibitions such as "Kunisada's World," winner of the Uchiyama Memorial Prize, and co-curated "Designed for Pleasure" at the Asia Society in 2008.
