Scholten Japanese Art is a Manhattan gallery specializing in Japanese woodblock prints, paintings, and drawings, founded in September 2000 in a renovated townhouse on the Upper East Side. It relocated to Midtown in 2003 for easier access for visiting and local collectors, then expanded within the same building in 2009 to add exhibition space and a dedicated print room for its library and inventory. The gallery's holdings span ukiyo-e from the eighteenth through twentieth centuries, including shin hanga, sosaku hanga, and Japanese-style prints by Western artists. It organizes at least two public exhibitions each year during Asia Week New York and keeps a rotating selection on view by appointment the rest of the year.
