RPGA Studio is a Queens-based nonprofit arts organization, also known as the Rego Park Green Alliance, founded by artist Yvonne Shortt to use art and community engagement to address neighborhood issues. Its Queens Art Intervention (QAI) program creates public art projects and installations in dialogue with residents across Rego Park, Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Astoria, Sunnyside, and Long Island City; one project had students at PS 206 turn community responses to a prompt about love into hash-tagged storefront-panel artworks after a lesson on color theory. RPGA Studio has also built a 3D design and fabrication curriculum for after-school providers and partners with community groups to convert underpass walls beneath Long Island Rail Road tracks into public murals.
