Nicole Klagsbrun is a Chelsea gallery built around the career of dealer Nicole Klagsbrun, who co-founded Cable Gallery with Clarissa Dalrymple in 1984, opened her own SoHo space in 1989, and moved the gallery to Chelsea in 1998. Over three decades the gallery gave early exposure to artists including Candida Hofer, Karen Kilimnik, Sarah Morris, Billy Sullivan, Rashid Johnson, and Brendan Fowler. Klagsbrun closed the gallery's full exhibition program in 2013, citing the changing structure of the art-fair-driven gallery system, but has continued to present periodic shows from the gallery's archive at the same Chelsea address, including a recurring summer group presentation open by appointment.
