The Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust is a history museum in Battery Park City, Manhattan, dedicated to educating the public about Jewish life before, during, and after the Holocaust. Incorporated in 1984, it opened to the public in 1997 in a six-sided building designed by architect Kevin Roche, whose form and pyramidal roof evoke the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust; the Robert M. Morgenthau Wing was added in 2003. The museum's collection holds more than 30,000 objects, including artifacts, photographs, and survivor testimonies, and it has drawn more than two million visitors since opening. It also runs the genealogy resource JewishGen and partners with institutions such as the Auschwitz Jewish Center in Poland.
