Medium Tings is a nomadic gallery founded in 2017 by curator Stephanie Baptist, previously the inaugural head of exhibitions and public programs at Tiwani Contemporary in London, a gallery focused on artists of the African diaspora. Baptist launched it in the living room of her Crown Heights, Brooklyn brownstone near the Brooklyn Museum, naming the project for both the modest scale of art suited to a domestic space and "tings," a nod to the neighborhood's Caribbean heritage. It has since operated without a permanent home, presenting early-career artists worldwide and appearing at fairs such as 1:54 New York and Future Fair.
