Judd Foundation preserves the permanently installed living and working spaces, libraries, and archives of minimalist artist Donald Judd (1928-1994) in New York and Marfa, Texas. Judd conceived the foundation in 1977 to maintain his work as he installed it, and it was formally established in 1996. In New York, the foundation maintains Judd's former residence and studio, a cast-iron building in SoHo he purchased in 1968; in Marfa, it oversees numerous studio, office, and residential buildings along with ranch land Judd acquired starting in 1971. The foundation provides public access to these spaces through guided tours and runs scholarly and educational programming to promote understanding of Judd's artistic legacy.
