Gray, formerly Richard Gray Gallery, was founded in Chicago in 1963 by dealer Richard Gray and opened a New York location on Madison Avenue in the 1990s. A member of the Art Dealers Association of America, the gallery's program spans modern art from 1900 to 1950 through postwar and contemporary work, with a focus on North American artists. Gray represents artists including Torkwase Dyson, David Hockney, Alex Katz, Judy Ledgerwood, John Stezaker, and Jaume Plensa, several of whom have shown in the Venice Biennale and the Carnegie International. Alongside its exhibition program, the gallery publishes artist monographs and catalogs, maintains virtual viewing rooms, and participates in international art fairs from its Chicago and New York spaces.
