Fountain House Gallery
Art galleryFountain House Gallery is a nonprofit exhibition space on Ninth Avenue in Manhattan, established in 2000 by Fountain House to support the careers of contemporary artists living with mental illness. The gallery represents both trained and self-taught member-artists, offering studio workspace, artist-in-residence opportunities, monthly museum visits, and a program at Governors Island, while working to challenge the stigma surrounding mental illness through exhibitions and art sales. It operates with nonprofit status while functioning as a working gallery for its member-artists, and holds membership in NADA and the Progressive Art Studio Alliance.
