Ethan Cohen Gallery
Art galleryEthan Cohen Gallery, also known as Ethan Cohen Fine Arts, was founded by dealer Ethan Cohen in 1987, originally in SoHo before expanding to Chelsea, where it now operates two spaces on West 17th and West 19th Streets alongside a satellite location at the Kube Art Center in Beacon, New York. Cohen has been credited as one of the first gallerists to introduce the Chinese Avant-Garde movement of the 1980s to American audiences, and the gallery continues to focus on contemporary and postwar work by international artists, including Algernon Miller, Nanette Carter, Li Daiyun, Yigal Ozeri, and Emil Alzamora. Cohen also works as a certified appraiser of contemporary Asian and African art, and the gallery's exhibitions have drawn coverage from The Brooklyn Rail, Artsy, and The New York Times.
