Artistic Noise is a Harlem-based nonprofit that uses visual art to amplify the voices of young people impacted by the juvenile court, probation, foster care, and mental health systems. Founded in 2001 as a single art workshop inside a Massachusetts detention facility, it has grown over more than two decades into a multi-program organization of artists, educators, activists, and licensed art therapists working alongside youth ages 14-21 in New York and historically in Boston. Programs include art workshops in community and detention settings, annual exhibitions of participant work, and an Art & Entrepreneurship program through which proceeds from art sales go directly to the young artists.
