Art Lab is a nonprofit art school founded in 1975, operating on the grounds of Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden in Staten Island. The organization offers fine and applied arts instruction across age groups, including preschool, youth, teen, and adult classes in painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, jewelry, sewing, stained glass, and photography. Its seasonal art camps run during spring, summer, and winter breaks, and its "Art for a Day" program offers customizable two-to-three-hour group sessions for scout troops, birthdays, and team-building events. Art Lab also maintains an on-site gallery presenting exhibitions by students, faculty, emerging artists, and community groups, including an open-call program for contemporary work.
