
Ricardo Gonzalez
Mixed mediaRicardo Gonzalez is a Mexican-born designer and artist based in Brooklyn who works under the name "It's a Living," producing typography- and lettering-based work spanning large-scale murals, street interventions, and commercial commissions. Trained in graphic design at Mohawk College and typeface design at Cooper Union, he treats lettering as image, applying a recognizable script style to turn words into public art. His murals and commercial projects have been made for brands including Apple, Nike, Google, and Coca-Cola, and his work has shown internationally in Mexico City, Paris, Tokyo, and New York, including the solo exhibitions "Untold Words" (2025) and "To Paint Is To Love Again" (2022). He has received the Art Directors Club's Young Guns 15 honor and a PRINT magazine typography award.
