Mike Childs was born in Toronto and received his BFA from the University of Guelph, Canada, and an MFA from Florida State University. He is the recipient of several awards including Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grants (2002 and 2021) and a 2022 Bronx Council BRIO Award. His work has been exhibited at Robert Henry Contemporary, Lesley Heller, Wave Hill and Bronx Art Space. He has maintained a painting studio in the South Bronx since 2017.
