Juan Travieso
Mixed mediaJuan Travieso is a painter and muralist born in Havana, Cuba, based in Miami, whose work combines realist technique with geometric, pixelated fragmentation. His paintings focus on endangered species, particularly birds, rendering them in fractured, digitally inflected patterns to evoke ecological loss and the pressure of human development on the natural world. He is a graduate of New World School of the Arts in Miami and Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, and holds an MFA from the Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston. His work has been exhibited in museums including the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art, Orlando Museum of Art, and Naples Museum of Art, with additional exhibitions in New York, Boston, and Los Angeles. His practice extends to large-scale murals and street art.
