Studio NEOS is a Brooklyn-based practice making handmade swing chimes and other sound-meditation instruments, described on its own site as tools for stillness, resonance, and ritual. Each instrument is sculpted and tuned individually and made to order, with the maker following up personally on each commission. The current collection includes the Luna chime, tuned to an A-minor-add9 scale for a spacious, contemplative harmonic field, and the Solaris chime, tuned to a G-minor-add9 scale with a richer, moodier tone. An upcoming 432Hz Harmonic Series is described as built around natural overtone relationships and pure interval ratios.
