Gian Galang is an illustrator and painter based in New York City who specializes in dynamic depictions of martial arts, combat sports, and the human body in motion. Born in Los Angeles and raised in Hong Kong and then Virginia, he studied illustration and graphic design at Virginia Commonwealth University before spending more than a decade as an art director at agencies including Wieden and Kennedy, Nickelodeon, and Anomaly NYC, transitioning to full-time illustration and painting in 2016. His clients have included the UFC, Nike, Reebok, ESPN, and the Criterion Collection, and his New York murals include the 2021 Seek and Destroy piece for a Two Bridges Muay Thai gym and the 2023 Chinatown Warriors mural on Doyers Street.
