Resin at the Disco is the resin-art practice of Erin Wahed, a Greenpoint, Brooklyn-based artist who began experimenting with resin by turning a vinyl record — Sylvester's "You Make Me Feel" — into a lazy Susan before moving on to freeform pieces built from color, shape, and texture alone. Each piece is handmade and one of a kind, and Wahed has described the medium as offering little control: she chooses the mold, colors, and pouring method, but leaves the rest to chemistry, treating small imperfections like ripples and air bubbles as part of the finished work. She has likened working with resin to the instinct-driven freedom of making art as a child, describing the surrender to the material's unpredictability as liberating.
