Cey Adams (b. 1962) is a New York visual artist and graphic designer who emerged from the city's graffiti movement of the late 1970s and early 1980s, tagging Cey City, studying painting at the School of Visual Arts, exhibiting alongside Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring, and appearing in the 1982 PBS documentary Style Wars. As founding creative director of Def Jam Recordings, he co-founded the label's in-house design firm, the Drawing Board, with Steve Carr, shaping visuals for acts including the Beastie Boys, Run DMC, and LL Cool J. Based in Brooklyn, Adams co-edited DEFinition: The Art and Design of Hip-Hop (2008); his work has been shown at MoMA, the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture, and the Brooklyn Museum, and his retrospective Departure: 40 Years of Art & Design opened at Boston University's Stone Gallery in 2022.
